Port Your Number Out from SecondSim

We're sorry to see you go, but we believe in making this process as simple as possible. You can take your SecondSim number with you to any other UK provider.

How to get your SecondSim PAC Code

Just like any other UK provider, we follow Ofcom's simple "Text to Switch" process.

  1. From your SecondSim number, text PAC to 65075.
  2. We will text you back instantly with your PAC code.
  3. Give this PAC code to your new provider, and they will manage the transfer.

That's it. Your PAC is valid for 30 days, and your SecondSim subscription will be cancelled automatically once the number successfully ports out to your new carrier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about porting your number to SecondSim via PAC code.

What is a PAC code and how do I get it?

A Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) is a free 9-character code (formatted ABC123456) that authorizes the transfer of your mobile number between networks. To obtain it under Ofcom regulations, text PAC to 65075 from the mobile number you want to keep. Your current provider (e.g., EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, Sky, or Tesco Mobile) must reply instantly via SMS with your code. The code remains valid for 30 days.

Do I need to buy a SecondSim plan before I can port my number?

Yes, you must purchase a SecondSim subscription plan and activate your eSIM before requesting a port. The porting process works by transferring your old number directly onto your active, temporary SecondSim eSIM line, overriding the temporary number. We cannot initiate an MNP transfer request with Ofcom without an active target eSIM in your account.

How long does it take to port a number?

Number porting takes exactly one working day under Ofcom regulations, provided your PAC code is submitted before the 5:00 PM cutoff. UK mobile number transfers do not process on weekends or Bank Holidays. Refer to the table below to see when your number transfer will complete depending on your submission day and time:

Submission Day & Time Processing Status Transfer Completes (Ports)
Mon – Thu (Before 5:00 PM) Processed immediately Next Working Day (Tue – Fri)
Mon – Thu (After 5:00 PM) Queued for next working day 2 Working Days Later (Wed – Mon)
Friday (Before 5:00 PM) Processed immediately Monday (Next Working Day)
Friday (After 5:00 PM) Queued on Monday Tuesday (2 Working Days Later)
Saturday or Sunday (Anytime) Queued on Monday Tuesday (2 Working Days Later)

Will I lose signal during the transfer?

No, we guarantee zero signal downtime on your primary number during the transfer. Your previous network's SIM card remains fully operational until the exact second the port takes place. On the designated transfer day, your old provider's SIM will lose signal. When this happens, simply restart your device, and your ported number will be active on your SecondSim eSIM. The physical transition takes only a few minutes.

Does porting cancel my old contract?

Yes, completing a number transfer automatically cancels your previous mobile line. Under Ofcom rules, the successful porting of your mobile number acts as an immediate cancellation of service with your old provider. You do not need to contact them. However, they will issue a final bill to cover any outstanding usage up to the transfer day, or early termination fees if you are under contract.

Can I port a VoIP or landline number?

No, PAC codes only apply to mobile-to-mobile number transfers. Ofcom's text-to-switch system is built exclusively for mobile networks. If you have a UK virtual number, standard VoIP line (e.g., Skype, Vonage), or landline that you want to port into SecondSim, please contact our support team to request a custom manual porting review.
